Experience the annual Risk and Insurance Case Competition
WHAT IS QUANTIFY?
In 2014, two University of Waterloo organizations came together to host Waterloo’s first Insurance Case Competition. With prizes and almost a hundred delegates, the Insurance Case Competition was a resounding success. In the face of popular demand, they came together to host four subsequent case competitions, Quantify, with around twice the number of attendees and prizes from the first one. The UW Quantify Executive Team is now working towards expanding into a National Case Competition, allowing for the brightest Canadian Undergraduate students to compete, collaborate and inspire.
For the third year in a row, the UW Quantify Executive Team has expended into a separate entity to sustain the growing interest in the Insurance Case Competition. The team is proud to announce the next iteration of the annual Risk & Insurance Case Competition, to be hosted at the University of Toronto on May 10th, 2024.
MISSION
Quantify would not have been possible without the contributions from the University of Waterloo Actuarial Science Club over the past eight years. Due to popular demand, the University of Waterloo Quantify Executive Team has grown into a separate entity. Our mission, with the support of several University of Waterloo clubs and organizations, is to enhance the quality of Quantify while expanding the competition year after year.
Our Vision
Over the past few years, there has been a rising clamour by students for more. More networking, more competitions, more opportunities to grow. At Quantify, delegates will learn from each other, develop their teamwork ability, and come together to build a solution based solidly on actuarial concepts, extensive financial analysis, and sound business sense. Ultimately, delegates will leave Quantify with a sense of accomplishment and a willingness to learn more.
Over the next 5 years, we intend to significantly increase the number of graduates who work in the risk and insurance industry. This year, undergraduate students from various universities will be eligible to compete at Quantify 2020. Our intent is to encourage the competition, gather a larger talent pool, and help further our goal. We believe that Quantify is a key component to this vision.
